Questions About Monarch
Water Standard purchased Monarch back in 2016. Both companies have very strong industry market presence and therefore have maintained their unique brands. They each, however, work as one with Monarch focusing on traditional, proven produced water treatment solutions and Water Standard focusing on advanced water treatment solutions. See our product sheets here.

Questions about Monarch’s Industry
The upstream market is typically defined as starting sub-surface through the wellhead and associated wellhead surface storage facilities; the midstream market starts at the infrastructure and pipelines that connect at the upstream wellhead surface storage facilities through to the refineries. The downstream market is typically at the refineries or the end-point, prior to distribution and sale.
Water is a key resource for the energy industry. Water is used in the production of oil and gas and therefore, is sourced from groundwater, rivers, natural and artificial lakes, and most importantly from recycled produced water. Water is a limited resource. It is very valuable asset to the energy industry. With new technologies and advances in best water use practices (i.e. produced water reuse), the energy industry is investing tremendous resources such as time and money, to benefit both economically and environmentally.
Produced water is water resulting from an oil or gas producing well. The water can be a natural result of a “producing” well or can be a residual by-product of oil and gas operator’s “producing” methods such as water or steam flooding.
Energy companies are now reusing (recycling) the produced water that is a by-product and produced “naturally” in their oil and gas formations in lieu of just taking water from scarce resources like groundwater, rivers, natural and artificial lakes. This has huge benefits both economically and environmentally. Learn how we help you achieve your recycle goals.
Local, state, and federal regulations allow energy companies to discharge (i.e. dispose of) the produced water that forms naturally or as a by-product of their oil and gas formations, provided they meet strict discharge regulations. Like recycling, this has huge benefits both economically and environmentally. Learn how we help you achieve your discharge goals.
